Fruity earrings

I saw a tutorial on the net on how to make coconuts and found it funny. I do not remember at present where I saw it as it was a long time ago (and the link is saved on my laptop which is at home right now), so I do apologise for not being able to mention the author. All I remember is that it is in Russian!

Here are my coconut earrings:

My sister (yes, you again!), told me she saw a colleague with some cherries earrings one day. So I made some too. The cherries are made with white clay that I covered in gold powder, then cured, then painted with glass paint. I did the same for the leaves. I like the result, but I would have liked the paint to be more red: it is "Carmin" but very dark I think.

London

Such a big city! So many things to do, so many things to see! You would think that after 9 years over there, I would have managed to see it all, but no. I had this list of things to do, but each time I looked at it, I thought "I still have time to do it, no rush". Then I decided to go back home and thought "I absolutely have to do this before I leave!" and I left...with my list full, and nothing ticked on it.

A bit like a lot of my polymer clay projects: you keep on having those ideas, you draw them in a notebook in order not to forget, but then you read blogs and tutorials and you keep on thinking "ooooh! I have to try this! No, that one! NOOO! THAT!", and you end up with a lot of different projects you wish to try but do not have time. Or you start, and never finish them because something more interesting showed up in your mind. I am trying to get better at this and work on one project at a time. And I have to say that I have been really surprised at how nice and efficient it is when you stick to one thing lol Maybe that is why I can show you more pieces?

Like this necklace for example: mini glass bottle filled with mini macarons. They are so tiny, it is tricky to make them.

Tribal Dance

If you are from my generation (or the ones before), you should already be singing after having read this blog's title. Come on! I know you are. For those reading who don't have a clue as to what I am talking about...look at this.

So now that you have spent quite some time looking at the videos linked to the one I have just given you (probably even ended watching at cute, funny little cats haha!), let's go back to me!

Another necklace, still in the tribal spirit. Actually, I started it as a bracelet, but as I finished putting together the first row, I pulled it up and it placed itself into the position it is now: so I decided to turn it into a necklace. Sometimes, things do not always have to be the way you intended them to!

Another "tribal" necklace....

...I should probably start thinking about giving names to the pieces I do. Or maybe I should ask the readers (by "readers", please understand...my two sisters, my boyfriend and my friend lol I hope I will have more eventually) to find a name for them for each post?

My first attempt at making a torque-style necklace. I absolutely love the effect that the polymer clay has on it (fimo nº27-Copper).

...and the matching earrings

Sunday Interlude...

Today (ok, the nails were actually done last night due to the travelling) we are playing with magnetic nail polish.

Purple for my sister

and black for me!

That's all for today :-)
Hope you all had a good weekend.

The hottest day of the year...

...was yesterday here in France. We went out with my sister and the thermometer was showing 41 degrees in the car! No need to say that the shops were empty as people prefered to stay home, which was nice. But very happy once we got home to cool down. No need to say either that it is quite difficult to do anything with the polymer clay with such heat: it gets really soft and sticky and the cornflour doesn't help.
Actually, the whole week was like this but not as bad as yesterday. I have managed to make a few pieces before it got too hot. I will be showing them to you over the next couple of weeks.

It seems I have been in a sort of "tribal" mood this week. That is what comes out of my pieces. So, piece number 1: a necklace.

I used a tutorial from a polymerist (does that wordeven exist in English?) called Marie-France ("Polymeramoi" is her blog). It did not come out as nice as hers, but I think it is because my scrap clay wasn't varied color wise. Anywho! I like this necklace. What do you think?

and details...

Oh! and by the time you read this, I will be somewhere above the English Channel on my way to Great Britain: I am going to see my other half for two weeks. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

That's all for today :-)

More earrings

One from the clay gun/scrap clay family...

and another pair: I've added some silver metal leaves to blue clay for the round beads. For the bottom bead, I stamped it and used white paint afterwards.

That's all for today :-)

Earrings

I played with my clay gun extruder and quite a lot of scrap clay I had left. Simple but nice (well, that is what I think!)

"Pti Biscuit"

...is how we, the French, call the gingerbead man in Shrek. My sister saw a bracelet with a tiny version of him and asked me to do it. So I made these:

But when I showed them to her, she said it wasn't the right one. Turns out, the one she saw was actually a Gingerbread man, but a basic one, not "Pti Biscuit". But she told me "Pti Biscuit" when describing it...so I made him (still following?)
Anywhooo! I will have to make a normal gingerbread man for her bracelet now lol

That's all for today :-)

PS: oh yes! You will have noticed that I have changed the look of the blog. I wanted it to be a bit "lighter". Still not sure regarding the final look as I would like to change a few things, but it will have to do for now. I have changed the banner (it is an interim one, until I decide on the final design of Pti Kikó). And as I tend to do more than polymer clay it seems, I have also changed the description lol

Sunday interlude...

And it is nails interlude. Tonight I tried...leopard print.

That's all for today :-)
Hope you had a nice weekend!

Interlude...

A few months ago, I made myself a lunch bag for work. My sister asked me last week to make one for her, so I did. I am very happy with that one...I actually find it cuter than mine :-(She has seen it already, so I guess I can't steal it from her now haha!

That's (really) all for today :-)

The neverending project...part 3! (and the end lol)

I realised I actually never posted the picture of the finished scarf necklace my twin asked to make for her.
So here it is! Even with following the book's instructions and quantities, I find that the beads are too big and heavy for that sort of design. My sister liked it but she said some of the beads fell after a little while. I might try it again but will surely reduce the amounts of fimo in order to make the beads much smaller

That's all for today :-)

Things do not always go the way we want them to...

...like those beads. I tried to make some hollow ones. It started well, but once I tried to remove the "stuffing" from inside....most of them just split! Guess I am going to have to try again :-)
At least I am shoing you what they looked like when still ok (here in the water, soaking the "stuffing" before I tried to remove it)

That's all for today :-)

Summery necklace

A little necklace. The only annoying thing is that the lentils keep on turning so they don't stay on the right side the whole day. Will need to figure out a way to stop that.

That's all for today :-)

Sunday Interlude...

It is Sunday so I did my sister's nails. I am particularly proud of her hands tonight!
Not sure if the gradient can be seen properly but I love this design. It is inspired from Cutepolish's tutorial.

That's all for tonight :-)
Hope you had a nice weekend
